A calm handover note
If someone else will help with a case, prepare a short handover describing the issue, current stage, relevant documents and next unanswered question. Include privacy instructions and identify which files are safe to share. This reduces the need to retell distressing details repeatedly.
A practical checklist
- Keep the handover to the essential facts.
- Link each point to a record.
- State who may receive the information.
Putting it in context
A handover can say that an explanation is awaited and identify the latest message. It need not repeat every earlier frustration to be useful.
Keep in mind
Sharing a handover does not authorise someone to act on your behalf unless that authority is separately established.
