Creating a policy comparison table
Compare policies using fixed questions instead of selecting whichever details make one website look better. Useful columns include named entity, publication date, complaint route and stated review process. Mark missing information consistently across every document.
A practical checklist
- Define the comparison fields before reading.
- Use the same wording for unknown values.
- Link each cell to its source.
Putting it in context
If one document gives a timeframe and another does not, record stated and not stated. Do not invent a score that treats absence as a measured outcome.
Keep in mind
A comparison of published policies is not a test of real-world service.
