Operator identity · QUICK REFERENCE
Building an operator identity sheet
An identity sheet keeps names from drifting between sources. Use one row per observed entity-domain relationship and include the evidence that supports it. Blank fields are useful: they show what needs investigation without filling the gaps with assumptions. Keep this working sheet separate from conclusions about reliability.
A practical checklist
- Add columns for brand, entity, domain, source and date.
- Preserve the exact spelling used by the source.
- Mark uncertain relationships explicitly.
Putting it in context
If a source supplies a trading name but no company number, leave the number unverified. Do not borrow one from another website with a similar company name.
Keep in mind
Completing an identity sheet is documentation, not certification of an operator.
