Operator identity · QUICK REFERENCE
Why the exact domain matters
A research claim should identify the complete hostname it concerns. A country-specific website, a help centre and an international domain are separate addresses even when they share branding. Write the domain alongside each source so readers can see whether two records actually concern the same service.
A practical checklist
- Copy the hostname rather than a search-result title.
- Distinguish subdomains from separately registered domains.
- Keep historical domains in a dated field.
Putting it in context
A document about example.co.uk does not automatically describe example.com. A useful research note names the first address and states that the second has not been assessed.
Keep in mind
Similar spelling is a research lead, not evidence of a shared licence.
