Comparing an amount with its record
A discrepancy report should state exactly which two figures differ and where each came from. Keep original units and timestamps rather than silently converting everything into one currency. That allows the reviewer to understand whether the issue concerns quantity, a displayed estimate or a separately listed deduction.
A practical checklist
- Record the original unit beside each figure.
- Capture any labelled fee separately.
- State the difference without guessing its cause.
Putting it in context
A changing currency estimate and an unchanged asset quantity are different observations. A useful report preserves both instead of describing every change as missing funds.
Keep in mind
This worksheet is for documenting an existing issue, not calculating expected gambling returns.
