Evidence and sources · QUICK REFERENCE
Handling conflicting sources
Start by checking whether the sources actually discuss the same entity, domain and time period. Apparent contradictions often concern different questions. If a real conflict remains, show the relevant statements side by side and record what additional evidence would resolve it.
A practical checklist
- Compare scope before choosing a winner.
- Prefer direct documents for specific factual claims.
- Keep unresolved contradictions visible.
Putting it in context
An old notice and a new operator announcement may not directly contradict each other. One describes a past event; the other makes a later claim that still needs verification.
Keep in mind
A more recent date does not automatically make every statement more reliable.
