Crypto risk literacy · QUICK REFERENCE
Price changes and complaint evidence
When a dispute concerns a crypto-denominated amount, record the asset quantity separately from any currency estimate. Include timestamps for displayed estimates and avoid silently updating old figures to current values. This preserves what each source actually showed.
A practical checklist
- Keep original units in the chronology.
- Label estimates as estimates.
- Record the time associated with each figure.
Putting it in context
Two screenshots can show the same quantity but different currency estimates. A careful report describes that difference without assuming either screenshot records a missing quantity.
