Review literacy · QUICK REFERENCE
Review dates and recycled freshness
An updated date is useful only when it corresponds to meaningful work. Look for a change note explaining what was checked or revised. A fresh timestamp above unchanged historical claims can make a review look more current than its evidence.
A practical checklist
- Compare source dates with the page update.
- Look for a revision explanation.
- Check whether current-status claims have fresh support.
Putting it in context
A page updated this month may still rely entirely on a notice from several years ago. The review should distinguish editing activity from renewed factual verification.
Keep in mind
A recent page date is not proof that every assertion was rechecked.
