Licensing research · QUICK REFERENCE
Company registration is not a licence check
A corporate register and a gambling register answer different research questions. Keep company existence, gambling authorisation and the scope of that authorisation in separate fields. Combining them into a single verified label makes the evidence look broader than it is.
A practical checklist
- Label each register by its actual purpose.
- Record the entity identifier separately from any licence number.
- Explain what each source confirms.
Putting it in context
A company incorporation extract can help identify a business. It should not be presented as proof that a particular gambling website is authorised in a particular country.
Keep in mind
This distinction is a research method, not an assessment of an individual licence.
