Reading the scope of a register entry
Do not stop at a register entry's headline status. Note the activities, domains and limitations it actually displays. A research summary should describe that scope in plain English and leave unanswered questions visible rather than replacing the detail with an unrestricted approval badge.
A practical checklist
- Capture the full relevant entry.
- Note any named domains or product categories.
- Preserve restrictions and annotations.
Putting it in context
If a record concerns one named service, write that name into the summary. A broader brand may operate other services that have not been assessed in that entry.
Keep in mind
Never infer an unlisted activity from a familiar brand name.
