Writing a factual complaint chronology
Use a simple table with date, event, evidence reference and open question. Record each contact separately and identify who supplied the information. This avoids accidental changes to the sequence when a case is retold from memory.
A practical checklist
- Preserve original timestamps and time zones.
- Use one event per row.
- Link each entry to a saved record.
Putting it in context
If you remember a call but have no recording or written confirmation, label it as your recollection. That is more transparent than presenting a reconstruction as a transcript.
Keep in mind
A chronology can contain gaps; mark them rather than estimating dates as facts.
